Women in rural Kenya

Jambo Friends
Today I went together with a friend to a rural area in Kenya, not too far from

Tanzania. My friend is a social worker and visits this area frequently. On one of her trips she got to know an older lady who converted from the prominent religion to become a follower of
the Way. Her husband deserted her for her choice. She has poor eye sight since birth. Many trips to the witch doctor didn't help. Her legs bear the marks of the crucial treatment she underwent. Today she testifies freely: "God can heal me if He wants, but even when He chooses not to heal me I will not turn back, I follow Him!" This is remarkable! We prayed and fellowshipped together, how sweet.

She invited her"girl friends" to meet us. I could share some things God has and is teaching me. We brought  maize flour, clothing, shoes and lolly pops  as gifts with us. Children, women and men alike loved them.

For the young girls we has special gifts too, which they appreciated very much. Enjoy the glimpse into African rural living! Karibu!

Kenyan Wedding

Jambo Friends

Yesterday I went to a Kenyan wedding. I learned a couple of new things about the culture and the people. My favorite part was how the women greeted the couple at the reception. There was much traditional dancing and singing. Here some pictures that give you a taste.

Dear Friends
This week I visited a school near by. The children welcomed me with a song and I could give a brief message about God's love. The kids are excited when a visitor comes, of course there must be something sweet in your bag if you come "Kenyan" style.

Beatiful side of Kenya

There are many beautiful parts of Kenya. One is right here at the Indian Ocean. The sunrise is absolutely amazing. We just passed full moon and its a sight to  behold. The moon slowly lifts itself out of  the dark water, brightly orange, it comands our amazment and rrfects just one part od God's creative power. Unfortunately I can't take a picture of it, my camera can't capture the beauty of it. Right now I sit at high tide on the ocean, the power of the waves are equally impressive.
