Colorado

Dear Friends!
Colorado is such an amazing State. We are finishing our stay here in the West with a authentically cross cultural experience in Georgetown, near Denver. The meals are truly great and one of the best culinary experiences.   We ate at an old mining town and were invited to tour a private home that once was a church. (it was showcased at hgtv at one time) The snow capped mountain greeted us with majesty and beauty. Following the Colorado River along Interstate 70 gave us a glimpse into the power of the river and its surrounding beauty. An old train moves slowly through the mountain reminding us of ages past.  Before we board the air plane tomorrow we enjoyed some very authentic moments in Colorado.

Las Vegas

Dear Friends!

The last time I was in Las Vegas was with Gil when we went to visit the Grand Canyon. The convenience of the airport and cheap airfare makes it a comfortable base point. But that is about all that Las Vegas is to me. I am glad when I can leave this city behind me. There is a fascination with what men can build but it is so sad how empty the promises of "luck" and "riches" are. The pictures show us near New York New York Casino, and in the background the Eiffel tower of Paris. Pretty crazy if you ask me!

Canyon Land

Dear Friends

The scenery changes constantly and we are in awe of the magnificent colors, forms and shapes of the rock formations. The sunlight paints the canyons and rocks in purple, red, and orange.  Truly a "Masters Work" what our eyes behold. At times its humbling, standing in the presence of such beauty and creativity. The slow hikes between the rocks fill my heart with joy. I see beauty in the little flower along the way, animals and/or marvel at the impressive stone walls that are right before me. Here are some glimpses from the past days.

Grand Canyon

Dear Friends
Descending from almost 9000 feet in Bryce Canyon to about 2000 feet in Las Vegas can be a challenge. The thin air in the mountains leaves you at times breathless, not only the amazing beauty. The temperature in the morning read 34 o F in Grand Canyon and claimed to 87 o F today in Las Vegas. Not only altitude and temperature are in stark contrast to none another but also the life style, harmony and beauty. One day in Las Vegas is pretty
much all my heart can take.
We had a great time with Benedikt who joined us for the last four days and went back to Detroit today. Here are some of the highlights of our trip.

Bryce Canyon

Even its was quiet cold in Bryce Canyon the amazing colors and formations radiated in the sun. We had a great day just enjoying nature and walking along the rim of the canyon. Tonight we stay in a rustic log cabin and tomorrow we are on our way to Las Vegas.

Canyon Land Utah

If you follow my trip spend some more time with me in the amazing colorful Canyon Land National Park in Utah. The beauty is striking fantastic!

Dear Friends
Colorado is good for weather surprises. We arrived and the sun shined beautiful, a couple of miles up the mountain snow and ice welcomed us to the West. We hiked a beautiful and steep path up to "Hanging Lake". Breath taking beauty as far as your eye can see.

The following day we went to "Arch National Park" and today we visited "Canyon Land". Words can not describe the beauty of Nature. The hiking was superb, vistas amazingly beautiful and colors and brilliant array. If you have never seen America's West you  have not seen the beauty of the country.
Enjoy the pictures. Tomorrow out tour will lead us to Bryce Canyon.
