Garrisa

Dear Friends
All of Kenya grieves over the horrible terrorist attacks in Garrisa. As we watch the news our hearts are going out to the victims and their family. My heart is heavy, listening to the reports and the pain of the people there. People are afraid for their safety and the future of the country.

I feel safe here in Diani Beach. Warnings about a possible attack was passed on to me by the UK FO several days before the actual attack. UK intelligence asked all British citizens to leave the country. Again I feel safe and will stay here until my planned departure.

Please pray for peace, particularly in the next couple of weeks. Pray that there will not be any retaliating of any kind. Pray that Christians would love their fellow countrymen and reach out to them. Diani Beach is a primarily Muslim area, with many opportunities to build bridges between Kenyans.

Thank you for your heartfelt emails and messages I received. We are never saver then in the hand of God,
Firmly in His grip,
Maria
